The Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Social Media Management degree offered by Excelsior College strives to help students improve job performance, compete for promotions, and prepare for leadership roles like business ownership. Graduates of this program may acquire skills and knowledge concerning aspects involved in using Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and other social media tools. Students may gain competencies in creating and implementing social media strategies, integrating social media tools with traditional marketing strategies, identifying and marketing to targeted audiences, and measuring and analyzing audience behavior. Students may gain hands-on experience that may bring an organization up to speed with this field of marketing.
Students who successfully complete this program may be able to integrate and manage technology in order to improve products, services, and productivity, as well as use strategic management principles in order to develop and implement innovative technologies in organizations, and assess the impact of the global business environment on business situation. Students should also learn essential competencies such as how to apply quantitative methods to analysis of business situations, perform ethically and professionally in business and society, and be able to assess the ethical implications of actions for diverse stakeholders.
