Master of Business Administration with concentration in Leadership
Excelsior College offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Leadership degree that aims to equip individuals who have already earned their Bachelor’s in Business with advanced skills and knowledge related to Leadership. Graduates of this program should acquire skills and knowledge in conflict management, succession planning, strategic problem solving, organizational behavior, and change management.
Following successful completion of this program, students should be able to integrate and manage technology in an effective way in order to improve products, services, and productivity, and use strategic management principles in order to develop and implement innovative technologies in organizations. Some competencies students will learn involve being able to apply quantitative methods to analysis of business situations, to perform ethically and professionally in business and society, to use project management skills to business situations, and to be able to assess the ethical implications of actions for diverse stakeholders.
A student’s prior learning and earned credits will be the deciding factor for the amount of credits they will need to fulfill. Students may transfer credits from prior learning experiences or vocational experiences. The Master of Business Administration core includes courses such as Accounting for Managers, Business Communications, and Leadership or Change Management. Students then take courses such as Leadership: Conflict Management, Change Management or Leadership, and Contingency Planning.

Excelsior College was founded in 1971 by the New York State Board of Regents, and was originally known as the Regents External Degree Program (REX).
