Bachelor of Science in Human Services / Behavioral & Addictions Counseling
Elizabethtown College

Program Details

The Bachelor of Science in Human Services degree online offers a concentration in Behavioral & Addictions Counseling.  This program is designed to give students the same solid foundation that the Human Services degree online provides, but it focuses on helping those with addictions and behavior disorders.  Students complete courses covering topics such as group counseling, pharmacology and addictions, and addictive disorders.  You will learn to apply theory, practical skills, and an interdisciplinary approach to human services along with interpersonal and group communication skills.  In addition, graduates are prepared to act legally, ethically, and professionally while taking a proactive approach to helping with substance abuse and educating others about healthy habits and behaviors.  This specialized curriculum allows students to sit for certification as Certified Drug and Alcohol Addiction Counselors and prepares them for positions that entail working with groups or individuals who desire to overcome substance abuse or to work with those who have a behavior disorder.
