Program Details

The Master of Education in Elementary Education from ECSU offers two tracks—Teacher Leader or Initial Certification in Elementary Education K-6. You can opt for a traditional or accelerated study schedule with either track.

This online elementary education program ensures that teachers learn the skills of effective collaborators and leaders. The focus aims for high-quality education through standards for teachers.

With a goal of developing 21st-century professional educators, the elementary education curriculum provides the skills, knowledge, and dispositions through collaborative relationships with the school, the Local Education Agency, and the community. Students gain content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, and professional knowledge. 

Graduates improve their educational practice through self-evaluation, reflection, and applied research. They also grasp the importance of many dispositions, including developing the following qualities:
