Program Details

The Master of Arts in Counseling with a concentration in Art Therapy is an online counseling degree program available at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.  This counseling degree option meets the educational requirements to attain credentials as a nationally Registered Art Therapist and a Pennsylvania Licensed Professional Counselor.  The curriculum uses the American Art Therapy Association educational guidelines to prepare students to reach, connect, and treat those in need of help through counseling using art.  The program integrates counseling and visual arts practice in an accessible, inter-personal educational experience that is designed to meet the diverse needs of the modern student population.  You will learn to engage the creative power of art for clinical assessment and treatment while using creativity and the arts to provide impactful counseling.  Courses train students to help others through counseling and also teach art therapy education, research, clinical and community service, and ethics.
