Program Details

The online Hospital Ambulatory Coding Certificate program provides students who have some hospital employment experience with the skills needed to classify and code diagnoses and procedures while working to improve the accuracy and productivity of coding in hospital ambulatory/outpatient services.  The curriculum’s main focuses are teaching students to review, abstract, and interpret both diagnostic and financial data from clinical healthcare documentation and encounter forms.  Graduates of this program may transfer all course work into higher level programs offered by the Health Information Technology program.
