Personal Computer User Certificate
Eastfield College offers an online Computer Information Technology- Personal Computer User Certificate designed to provide students with training in basic word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation graphics and PC operating skills. Ideally, the graduate will be qualified to use software applications at a level required for appropriate certification.
Students must meet required Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards as well as earn 25 percent of the college credits through the college awarding the degree. If the student plans to transfer to a four-year institution they should consult an advisor to discover the requirements for transferability of the courses offered through Eastfield.
This certificate is a 20-credit-hour program taught over two semesters. Semester one courses are taught in: Introduction to Computers or Business Computer Applications or Introduction to Computing, Introduction to Word Processing or Integrated Software Applications II or Advanced Word Processing, and Introduction to Spreadsheets or Advanced Spreadsheets. The second semester classes are: Introduction to Database or Advanced Database, and Introduction to Presentation Graphics Software or Integrated Software Applications I or Integrated Software Applications III.
