Program Details

Eastfield College offers an online Basic Criminal Justice Certificate designed for students who want the introductory elements of the criminal justice system and intend to transfer to an institution that provides a baccalaureate degree in Criminal Justice.  Students must meet required Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards as well as earn 25 percent of the college credits through the college awarding the degree.  If the student plans to transfer to a four-year institution they should consult an advisor to discover the requirements for transferability of the courses offered through Eastfield.

The Criminal Justice Certificate is an 18-credit-hour program taught over two semesters.  First semester courses are taught in: Fundamentals of Criminal Law, Introduction to Criminal Justice, and Crime in America.  The second semester classes are: Court Systems and Practices, Correctional Systems and Practices, and Police Systems and Practices.
