Dallas College offers the Associate of Arts in Teaching / 4-8, EC-12 Special Education. This online special education program provides the foundation to enter a baccalaureate program for initial Texas teacher certification.

The curriculum covers lower-division courses that can be transferred to a bachelor’s degree program. Courses of study include:

  • Biology for science majors
  • General chemistry
  • Physical geology
  • College physics

Designed for future teachers of grades 4 – 8 or special education teachers of all levels, students learn critical reading and writing as well as communication skills. Other topics within the online special education coursework include wellness, research, creativity, and reasoning.
