Program Overview

Eastfield College offers an online Accounting Assistant Certificate designed to give the student an increased knowledge of basic accounting and business principles.  Likewise, the program stresses the development of communication and human relations skills required for advancement in accounting and business-applicable careers.  This certificate is also useful because the courses required are featured in the Associate in Applied Sciences degree in Accounting.  Students pursuing this certificate are waived from TSI standards; however, 25 percent of credit hours earned must come from the college awarding the degree.

This certificate is a 31-35 credit hour program.  First semester courses include: Principles of Accounting I, Introduction to Computerized Accounting, Introduction to Keyboarding, Business Math and Machine Applications, Word Processing or Computer Applications II, and an elective in Business/Technical.  The second semester classes are: Principles of Accounting II, Computerized Accounting Applications, Composition I, Introduction to Speech Communication or Fundamentals of Public Speaking, and another Business/Technical elective.
