School Details

Eastern Washington University is a public, four-year institution of higher learning located in Cheney, Washington. Founded in 1882 by the funds received from a man named Benjamin Pierce Cheney, the school began as a small institution known as the Benjamin P. Cheney Academy. Originally started as a teacher training school, the academy expanded to include programs outside of the education field after WWII and became a university in the late 1970s. Today, the university offers programs in many areas throughout Washington including Vancouver, Seattle, Spokane, Lakewood, Everett, Yakima, Kirkland and Bellevue.

Eastern Washington University offers degrees at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral level. The most popular undergraduate areas of study include psychology, health sciences, education and business. EWU's Extended Campus serves students, working professionals, and the community with online degree programs designed to meet individual needs.
