Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction
Eastern Washington University

Program Details

The online Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction program provides an understanding  of how to develop a curriculum aligned with regulatory standards and evolving trends.  Students learn to refine instructional strategies as they prepare to continue to serve in the classroom as lead teachers or outside the classrooms in building-level positions dealing with curriculum planning or instructional design.  The curriculum boosts knowledge of issues in instructional design and curriculum development, connects theory from coursework with practice in a working K-12 environment, and teaches the skills of being an Instructional Coach or Curriculum Personnel.

Some of the courses offered include:

  • Supervision of instruction
  • Media literacy for teachers
  • Curricular design and evaluation

In place of a thesis, students submit a portfolio and take a comprehensive exam. Students also complete an internship working with a mentor who already holds a master’s degree. Students benefit from experienced and professional faculty who are committed to bringing quality education. The online master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction can increase earning potential and enable graduates to pursue their ideal careers in education.
