The Certificate in Education is a one-year program valuable for those seeking careers as educational assistants in K-12 education or for those working in early childhood settings. It is also useful for those wishing to enter into social services types of employment. An added benefit is that courses listed for the Certificate in Education may apply toward the AA in Education and support the student in advancing toward a bachelor’s degree and becoming a licensed teacher. The EOU College of Education maintains partnerships with three area community colleges for maximized flexibility. Students are also eligible for scholarships through several organizations supporting education students. EOU’s College of Education offers programs in Early Childhood Education, Reading, and English as a Second Language.
