Program Details

The online Master of Education with an emphasis in Career and Technical Education program is ideal for individuals who want advanced training for research and administrative positions in the education field.  Graduates are prepared for careers in secondary or postsecondary education, community or technical colleges, higher education, or business and industry related professional technical education.  Courses include Philosophy and Organization of CTE, Curriculum Development in CTE, Teaching Methods in CTE, and Administration and Supervision in CTE.

Requirements

  • Official transcript from each institution previously attended
  • An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (applicants with GPAs between 2.8 and 2.99 will be considered for "conditional" admission; if accepted, candidates must earn a minimum GPA of 3.0 with no grade less than a "B" during the first semester or the first nine hours of enrollment)
  • A letter of application to the educational studies graduate coordinator or the curriculum and instruction graduate coordinator
  • One letter of recommendation
  • Successful completion of the Writing Proficiency Exam during the first six hours of enrollment in the degree program
