    Requirements

    This is a bachelor completion program. 124 total credits are required for degree, including transfer and major requirements

    • Online major curriculum: 79-81 credits
    • Hold a current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse
    • 2.5 or better cumulative college G.P.A (4.0 scale)
    • WRTG 121 or college-level course in English composition with a minimum course grade of 2.0 (4.0 scale) or higher

    Restrictions

    EMU is an approved State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) participant and approved to offer online programs to students living in any SARA member state. Students residing in Massachusetts are not approved.

    School Overview

    Eastern Michigan University is a large, public university located in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Established in 1849 as the Michigan State Normal School, the original purpose of the institution was to prepare individuals as teachers. As the university built up its educational courses in order to provide four-year programs, the university changed its name to the Michigan State Normal College in 1899. Over the next half century, the school expanded its academic programs past teacher education to include liberal arts four-year degree programs and became Eastern Michigan University in 1959. Students at EMU can earn their bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees.
