East Central University
East Central University in Oklahoma offers a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership as part of their Reach Higher program for assisting professionals and students with completing their degree programs. As part of the program, students who have a minimum of 72 credit hours, are at least 21 years of age, have at least a 2.0 and satisfy requirements for remedial work are allowed to fast-track their education and completion of a degree. As part of the program, students who have those educational requirements can complete their degree, even though they may have families or professional schedules which restrict their ability to attend classes. The program is designed to develop organizational leadership skills to assist students in corporate, industrial, governmental, or non-profit careers.
Students will study topics and develop their knowledge and skills in areas such as organizational behavior, management, ethics, interpersonal skills, communication, and finance. The classes last eight weeks each and are held five times throughout the year, with most of the classes being offered online. The benefit of an online education is extra important to students who would otherwise not complete their degree due to their inability to meet the rigors of a traditional in-person classroom education program. In addition, classes will include inpidual and group projects and students are capable of receiving credit hours based on working experience.

East Central University is a public institution of higher learning located in Ada, Oklahoma. Founded in 1909 as the East Central State Normal School. Originally, the school began as a four-year preparatory teaching school and students received a teaching certification. In 1919, East Central State Normal School officially received permission from the state of Oklahoma to provide four-year bachelor’s degrees in teacher education. However, throughout the next two decades, the school began to offer subjects outside of education and as a result was renamed East Central State College. The university was renamed in 1985 to its current name.
Within ECU, the university has four specialized colleges and a graduate school. The specialized colleges include the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, the School of Business, the College of Education and Psychology, and the College of Health and Sciences. Additionally, EDU has an online distance-learning program. ECU offers degrees at the bachelor’s and master’s level. Some of the most popular majors include health professions, business, education and public administration.
