Master of Construction Management (MCM)
East Carolina University
In construction, contracting and management services are becoming increasingly complex due to construction technology development and legal and regulatory issues related to constructing new buildings for commercial, industrial, or residential purposes. Because of those increasing responsibilities, the responsibilities of contractors are becoming more multifaceted and require contractors to understand the environment in which they will be working, while these changes are occurring.
East Carolina University’s Master of Construction Management degree provides practitioners with the technical competence and strong business acumen essential to the construction management industry. The Master in Construction Management gives professionals the chance to develop the knowledge and the skill set required of effective construction managers and supervisors. The program focuses on training professionals to meet the challenges of managing complex construction projects, while maintaining the ability to meet deadlines while meeting all necessary construction, safety, and environmental regulations. The Construction Management MS offers participants a combination of practical business decision-making and leadership relevant to successfully managing construction operations. Students who have Bachelor degrees related to the field of construction or engineering will not be required to take remedial courses necessary for the program.
East Carolina University’s curriculum is available entirely on campus for a traditional classroom setting, or students have the option to have their courses online. Online classes benefit students who are either unable or unwilling to give up their careers or personal lives in pursuit of education, because at this point, students are professionals who may not be able to meet the needs of a normal class schedule. By taking classes out of the home or other location, instead of a traditional classroom environment, students can choose their own schedules for completing classes, allowing students to have versatility in completing their learning.
