Program Details

The online Master of Arts in Education in Adult Education program is designed to assist professionals working with adult learners to develop skills necessary to initiate, design, administer, and implement effective educational programs.  The curriculum prepares adult educators who are knowledgeable and professional in their practice and capable of critical thinking and understanding of the subjects necessary for their successful exercising of their duties and responsibilities.  Courses include community education and community development, educational gerontology, communities of college education, developing programs in adult education, instructional strategies, issues and trends in adult education, leadership and communication in adult education.


  • Baccalaureate degree from a regionally-accredited institution accredited
  • Overall undergraduate GPA of 2.7 (4.0 scale)
  • Official transcripts for all colleges/universities attended
  • GRE or MAT test scores (waived for candidates with extensive professional experience)
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Statement of intent
