Program Details

The Post Master’s Certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner program online prepares advanced practice nurses to function as Family Nurse Practitioners.  Duquesne offers a degree that covers a range of patients and prepares you to monitor healthy families across all lifespans.  Students also learn how to deliver primary care and to provide diagnoses and treatment plans.  The curriculum teaches you to address chronic health issues and promote healthy habits and to take on leadership positions while providing comfort and preventing suffering.  As you go through each stage of development, the curriculum builds, so from course to course you gain a holistic understanding of caring for entire families.  

Graduates are prepared for the AANPCP or AANC certification exams.
