To list a few examples of the training that students will be receiving throughout the course of completion would be as follows: recording vital signs, medication administration, scheduling, record management and billing for insurance carriers.
The Daytona College of Medical Assisting Program is recognized by the American Medical Technoogists (AMT). Once a student graduates from the program they will become eligible to take the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certificate examination. Graduated students will also be qualified to take the Basic Radiographer exam with the American Registry Radiologic Technologies (ARRT). License requirements vary based on residency, so students should confirm their state's licensure requirements prior to taking the exam. Through the State of Florida the graduate will be eligible for the Basic X-Ray Machine Operators License. In addition, the graduate will qualify for both the EKG Technician Certification (CET) and Phlebotomy Technician Certificate (CPT) through the National Healthcare Association.
