Daytona opened its doors in 1996 as the Daytona Institute of Massage Therapy as a school dedicated to train students to be the very best at massage therapy. About ten years after its inception the private college expanded its programming with the addition of the Aesthetic Skin Care, Cosmetology, Allied Health and Business programs. Daytona College trains students for employment in specialized, technical fields.
Daytona awards associate's degrees, diplomas, and certificates in four main subjects: beauty and wellness, business administration, allied health and online programs. Students can receive a good number of these degrees and certificates from a distance as well, through Daytona’s online programs. The online programs also host many of Daytona’s continuing education classes—those available to community members, professionals or other individuals interested in enhancing their knowledge in certain subject matter. Examples include accounting and finance, teaching and education and writing and publishing.
