    School Overview

In 1866, just 16 years after the founding of the city of its namesake city, Grand Rapids Business College opened its doors to Michigan students. The first class of 16 students sought an education in bookkeeping, penmanship, business law and arithmetic—the core of one of the school's most popular colleges today: business. Over the years the school developed into a private, four-year university, changing names and faces until settling on its current name of Davenport University.

Davenport offers programs leading toward master’s, bachelor’s and associate’s degrees in business, technology and health. The school also has online courses for those not near one of the many physical locations. In addition, Davenport University hosts an online campus. DU Online supports more than 45 programs of study, working toward associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees, along with post-baccalaureate certificates.
