Program Details

The online Associate of Applied Science in Photography is a fine arts degree from Dakota College at Bottineau.  With this online art program, students will be adequately prepared to enter the workforce in the professional photography field through a unique, hands-on learning experience.  In addition, you will be guided by a professional as you purchase your own lighting equipment, allowing you to do everything from home.  Courses are taught by instructors who have master’s in fine art degrees and are recognized nationally and internationally for their photographic works and photography instruction.  The curriculum teaches students to use professional photography equipment including DSLR cameras, lenses, on camera and studio lighting, and other studio equipment, and helps students learn to use Adobe Suite postproduction software such as Lightroom, Bridge, and Photoshop. 

Graduates will be proficient in creating images in professional portraiture, advertising, documentary, sports, event, and outdoor photography.  They are also prepared for business practices that include:
