Disaster and Emergency Management, B.S.
The primary objective of the Disaster and Emergency Management program is to formally educate individuals in the many faith-based organizations that respond to natural and man-made crises. The B.S. degree in Disaster and Emergency Management introduces students to management principles and public policies, and may also be combined with the Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Completions of the complementary programs offer students an even greater option for personal and professional career growth.
The goal of the Disaster and Emergency Management program is to provide students with the necessary and relevant knowledge needed when applying skills in law enforcement positions, active and non-active duty military personnel and city planning professions. The online program allows adult learners and other professionals the flexibility to earn a degree while still fulfilling previous obligations. In addition to the strong core curriculum, the faculty members strive to promoting and nurturing leadership styles that will contribute to meaningful and effective organizations. The educators bring real world ministry experience to the table as well as leadership experience to best apply practical understanding of the diverse roles graduates may acquire in different settings.
Students who complete the B.S. in Disaster and Emergency Management degree program may pursue a wide variety of job possibilities post-graduation. Through the program, certain graduates have been equipped to pursue careers in relief organizations such as the Red-Cross, Salvation Army, and many other for-profit and non-profit organizations.
