Program Details

Develop the special skill set you need to help culturally and linguistically diverse students with a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction with ESL and Bilingual Endorsements. Educators with an Illinois teaching license are eligible to receive these endorsements. Candidates outside of the state should determine eligibility with their state board of education.

The program strikes a balance between everyday classroom instruction skills and theory related to leadership and cultural competency. Graduates will be able to work with students in a variety of PreK-12 educational settings.

  • Upon completion of the ESL strand of the Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction or Master of Arts in ESL, candidates are eligible for the ESL endorsement to be attached to an existing standard teaching license offered by the State of Illinois. Candidates outside of Illinois should contact their state board of education for eligibility.
  • Applicants should have a GPA of 2.85 or higher.
