Program Details

The online EdD/PhD in Leadership with a specialization in Reading, Language and Literacy shapes competent leaders through theoretical and practical studies as students take classes teaching about being reading specialists or literacy coaches.  The curriculum provides a theoretical and practical framework for literacy instruction and assessment with an emphasis on current research while developing skills and competencies that will be needed throughout the students’ professional careers.  Coursework provides a strong background in research, theory, reading, writing, and multiliteracy programs.


  • Completion requires 61 credit hours for EdD or 67 credit hours PhD
  • Master’s degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA
