Program Details

The online Associate in Applied Science in Health Information Management prepares students to maintain health information records in nursing facilities, hospitals, health insurance agencies, and other healthcare organizations. Students will learn to maintain databases,  understand healthcare legal regulations, coding, and quality control management of information. Upon completion of this online program, students are eligible to take the Registered Health Information Technician certification exam offered by the American Health Information Management Association.

Courses include, but are not limited to:

  • Data analytics
  • Procedural coding
  • Pharmacology

The online associate degree prepares students for a variety of healthcare information careers, including health information management, data analysis, privacy and security assessment, and coding. Dedicated and experienced faculty provide realistic training scenarios for students to hone their skills. The online associate program in health information management allows graduates to pursue dynamic healthcare information careers in a constantly changing technological environment.
