Program Details

The online Master of Education in Special Education program is designed for teachers who wish to advance their education and knowledge in special education.  The curriculum provides advanced professional and pedagogical studies that develop expertise in the knowledge, skills, and habits of accomplished teachers.  Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of the philosophical, historical, and legal foundations of Special Education and an understanding of the developmental, behavioral, and learning needs of children with special needs.  They will also be able to integrate technology into instructional planning, establish and manage appropriate learning environments, understand and implement effective teaching strategies and methods for children with special needs, and effectively communicate and collaborate with parents and community agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
