Program Details
The online Health Information Management Technician Certificate program prepares students to compile patient charts, in paper, hybrid, and/or electronic format, in accordance with legal and regulatory standards while analyzing them for completeness and accuracy, and to perform release of information functions and other activities to assist the clinical and administrative team in the timely completion of health records. Coursework teaches students knowledge of medical terminology and clinical data that relates to the collection and use of health information. Students also learn how to run reports and how to operate computer systems in order to enter and retrieve data using various electronic health record applications and other electronic programs.
