Program Details
The online Certificate in Homeland Security program is designed for professionals currently working in, or seeking to obtain, positions in the private or public security field. The curriculum focuses on a variety of aspects related to the field including intelligence analysis and transportation and border security. Students will learn to communicate effectively, understand the characteristics of national and international acts of terrorism, gain an operational knowledge of intelligence gathering and analysis, identify vulnerabilities in this field, and understand the roles, functions, and interdependency between all levels of international law enforcement and military agencies to improve border security. You will be able to identify the characteristics, ideologies, motives, and behaviors of various extremists and terrorist groups and understand how agencies formulate predictions and forecast terrorist activities.
