Program Details
Columbia University’s online Social Work degree is designed and taught by social work specialists. Online MSW students complete field placements in their own communities, assisted by the school’s Field Education Department. A social work professional in your local area will serve as an advisor on class and field requirements and career goals. Online MSW students can choose from two fields of practice – family, youth, and children’s services; or health, mental health, and disabilities.
The Advanced Standing Program is available to those who have recently earned a bachelor’s in Social Work from an accredited school. This allows qualified students to complete their MSW fully online in just one year.
Students will choose one of four concentrations:
- Advanced clinical social work practice
- Advanced generalist practice and programming
- Policy practice
- Social enterprise administration
