Master of Music Education / Conducting

Program Details

The online Master of Music Education with a specialization in Conducting offers instruction in band, orchestra, and choir to immediately revitalize the students’ lesson plans with skills and knowledge gained.  The curriculum provides ample practice time at the podium while focusing on developing students’ score preparations, baton techniques, rehearsal strategies, and suggested repertoires.  Students will refine their conducting techniques and learn to implement music education research, foundational principles, and analysis to enhance their effectiveness as educators.

Requirements

An annual summer conducting seminar is required.

  • Bachelor's degree in music education from a regionally accredited institution
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on all undergraduate coursework
  • Three letters of recommendation

  • Five-minute conducting DVD
  • Official transcript of all collegiate work completed from every institution attended
