The online Graduate Certificate in Adult Basic Education provides training and personal development opportunities for those teaching, or wishing to teach, in adult basic education (ABE) programs. The curriculum focuses on foundational skills, methods, and theories for teaching adult learners, so students are able to create effective curricula and learning environments. Coursework is focused on the educating and training of adults and youth (age 16 or older) who are not enrolled in school and aims to teach students how to improve their adult students’ basic skills in reading, writing, math, and speaking, which will help shape their identities through the development of life skills.
