Program Details

The online Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education program provides training for those who want to become involved in the care and education of young children from birth to age eight.  Courses in theory and lab experiences are combined with general education courses to provide a comprehensive base of training in the field of early childhood care and education.  Other topics covered include giftedness, at-risk, special needs, and English language learners.  Graduates are prepared for positions such as school district preschool paraprofessionals, Head Start teachers, Early Childhood Resource and Referral Agency workers, child care center lead teachers, infant nursery supervisors or directors, family child care home operators, and developmental interventionist assistants.
