Founded in 1899 by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, the College has a strong tradition of concern for the poor, for developing leadership in a spirit of service and social responsibility, and a commitment to the promotion of women as full partners in society.

- Graduate Programs – evening, weekend and online master's programs and a fully subscribed doctoral program are designed to help students advance in high-demand fields and professions. These programs prepare our students to stand out as ethical, knowledgeable leaders, who acting in the spirit of service and active engagement, excel in their professions, communities, and daily lives.
- Professional Certificate Programs – CSE offers evening, weekend and online programs leading to certification in counseling, education, health care, management, ministry, nutrition and other fields.
