Program Details

The online AS in Accounting degree program from Coastline Community College provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to accumulate, record, and interpret financial data, analyze and recommend effective business decisions/solutions using a systematic, evaluative, and information-based approach, utilize computerized accounting software, and prepare accurate reports for decision making and regulatory compliance. Students may choose one of three concentration areas to suit their personal interests and professional goals:

  • Bookkeeping
  • General Accounting
  • Taxation


  • 18 years or older (if under 18, students must have graduated from high school, passed the California High School Certificate of Proficiency Test or the equivalent, or completed the 10th grade and received permission from their high school principal and parent to attend)
  • Placement tests for English and Math may be required
