Program Details

The online Associate of Arts in Emergency Management / Homeland Security program prepares students to enter the homeland security and disaster management professions in the fields of law enforcement, security management, urban planning, and other service-related occupations.  The curriculum provides a foundation of technical and professional knowledge at all levels while emphasizing an All-Hazard approach with courses in preparedness planning, terrorism studies, information security, risk mitigation, emergency response, and disaster recovery.  The program broadens core competencies in intelligence analysis, disaster planning, leadership development, and communications theory.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older (if under 18, students must have graduated from high school, passed the California High School Certificate of Proficiency Test or the equivalent, or completed the 10th grade and received permission from their high school principal and parent to attend)
  • Placement tests for English and Math may be required
