Clarks Summit University offers a Master of Education degree for students and professionals who are interested in becoming an educator in a variety of fields, including acting as an educator in the Bible and Christianity. The program is based on the philosophy of real-world education that can be used to help the student act as a teacher or educator in the future. The program is built on the foundation of the philosophic base of education, the philosophy of learning, dynamics of spiritual growth, development of curriculum, research methods, assessment of leaning, and a writing practicum.
The program consists of classroom courses which emphasize real-world education through examination of cases and education which will be applicable on the job. Those classes contemporary issues in education, critical thinking skills and integration, instructional design, instructional supervision, principles and methods of teaching and learning, leading in educational settings, instructional supervision, school finance, school law, literature for children and adults, best practices in the teaching of reading, teaching strategies for reading in the content areas, teaching struggling readers and writers, advanced methods of teaching literature, dramatic genre, narrative genre, principles of literary criticism, and educational theatre.
Through completion of the program, students will have demonstrated the professionalism and skill necessary to earn the degree. The qualifications demonstrate that the student has been able to apply the principles they have learned in the program into their eventual development as a functional affective professional in their field. These qualifications include but are not limited to: the ability to demonstrate knowledge of the fundamentals and foundations of education, to demonstrate an understanding of the philosophies of learning and the philosophies of education, and develop a spiritual understanding of the role of educator.

The original Clarks Summit University campus began as an undergraduate school in 1932 in Johnson City, NY. Growth demanded a new campus, and in 1968 the campus relocated to Clarks Summit, PA. The Seminary program began in the 1970s, followed by the introduction of graduate studies in 1989. The private, not-for-profit college awards degrees ranging from a one-year Bible certificate and Associate’s degrees to Master’s and Doctorate programs. Clarks Summit University supports a mission focused on the "excellence in biblical higher education for effectiveness in global Christian leadership."
While students have the opportunity to complete on-campus degrees, the institution also promotes the Online Bible College, along with the Online Graduate and Online Seminary schools offering distance education. Through the Online Bible College, students can pursue degrees in Bible and worldview studies. Through BBC Online Graduate Studies, students can complete master's degrees in fields such as education, counseling, and Bible. Other graduate degrees may be earned in hybrid formats.
