Program Details

The online Post Master's Certificate of Advanced Studies in Library Science is designed for post-master’s students looking to expand their current knowledge on library science.  The curriculum expands and updates professional skills and competencies through a structured pattern of continuing education.  Study may be on a full-time or part-time basis.


  • ​An official transcript from the school that granted the ALA-accredited master's degree in library science
  • Current resume including work experience
  • Overall GPA for the baccalaureate degree of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale;
    Or a 3.00 GPA for the last 60 credits of the baccalaureate degree with an overall quality point average of at least 2.75; or a 2.75 to 2.99 overall GPA for the baccalaureate degree with a score of at least 412 on the MAT or a combined score of at least 300 on the quantitative and verbal sections of the GRE or new test equivalent; or a graduate degree in another discipline with an overall GPA of at least 3.00
  • Submit a letter describing why you want to pursue the CAS program and your activities since receiving your MSLS degree
