Master of Education / Literacy

Program Details

The online Master of Education in Literacy program is designed to educate reading professionals with an in-depth knowledge of reading theories, processes, strategies, curriculum, and research.  Students also use this knowledge to plan appropriate reading programs and curricula for a variety of contexts, and to communicate information to a wide variety of audiences. 

Courses include:

  • Issues and Trends in Literacy Research
  • Literacy Curriculum: Design and Delivery
  • Program Organization: Literacy Coaching and Leadership
  • Assessing Literacy
  • Personalizing Literacy Instruction

Requirements

  • Statement of Educational and Professional Objectives
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
  • 3.0 GPA or above on the last 90 quarter credits/60 semester credits
  • Copy of valid teaching certificate
