Program Details

The Health Information Technology Certificate in Patient Access prepares students to provide customer service assistance as patients prepare to receive healthcare services. 

Patient Access specialists gather information from patients and carry out various administrative functions. Graduates can find employment in settings including hospitals, physician offices, rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities, mental health facilities, and more. After successful completion of this certificate, students are eligible to sit for the Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) exam from the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM).
