Centenary University is a four-year, private not-for-profit institution of higher education, located in the city of Hackettstown, New Jersey. The Newark Conference of the United Methodist Church founded Centenary in 1867, when it first opened its doors as a coeducational preparatory school. Since its founding, the college has retained its affiliations with the United Methodist Church. As the initial part of its vision statement, Centenary University commits “to be a leader in career-focused liberal arts studies offering programs to motivated learners seeking a degree, professional development, or lifelong learning.”
Accelerated degree programs at Centenary University provide distance education associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs targeting working professionals and adult students. Students choose how they complete each class within the degree program, either online, on campus, or in blended formats which typically combine eLearning with minimal monthly on-campus visits. Classes are offered in accelerated sessions, with six start dates throughout the year. Students may also qualify for prior learning credits, which further shortens the length of time necessary to earn a degree. In addition, per credit tuition is locked, meaning it does not increase as long as you remain enrolled in a degree program.
