Camden County College offers a Certificate in Electronic Health Records for students who are interested in advancing their career opportunities within medical institutions. This may be done through developing a practical understanding of information systems and coding systems utilized by medical organizations. Students will learn to work within information settings to operate with software companies and organizations to act as a consultant for a variety of medical organizations. To do so, they will learn to work by providing services and designing health care systems. These systems will need to meet the health care provider requirements in order to facilitate the job duties and responsibilities present in health care settings. Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared for roles as implementation support specialists, workflow redesign specialists, systems trainers, and general consultants.
Students will focus on a curriculum that will develop their practical ability in the application and utilization of medical health records and medical coding. Those classes include introduction to information and computer science, fundamentals of health workflow process analysis and redesign, and professionalism and customer service in the health environment.
Students who successfully complete this program will have proven mastery in understanding the theory of health information technology standards, health related data structures, and software applications in healthcare and public health organizations. Participants also should understand threats to security in health information technology systems, maintaining high levels of usability, how errors occur, and understanding of the needs of health care organizations by developing their ability in health information technology.

Located on the former Mother of the Savior Seminary, in Blackwood, New Jersey, Camden County College established a presence on this 320-acre tract in 1967 when it first enrolled local students. Since its founding, Camden County College has continued to grow, expanding programs and establishing additional campuses in Camden and Cherry Hill, in addition to satellite facilities in Lakeland, Sicklerville, and additional locations. Today, Camden County College supports more than 100 degree, certificate, and training programs.
Camden County College offers students the opportunities to complete associate’s degrees, including degree-specific and transfer options, along with certificates and training programs. Career Programs allow students to target specific interests, and students earn an Associate in Applied Science Degree. For added flexibility, Camden County College supports distance learning. Online classes are delivered asynchronously and an online “Self Assessment” can help students determine online learning readiness. At times, students may be required to come to campus, or complete proctored exams at a local library or school, however many instructors simply have students complete exams online. Furthermore, hybrid courses allow students to participate in both online and face-to-face instruction. Distance learning students have access to online support services, including technical support.
