Worship Arts and Youth Ministry
Calvary University offers male students the opportunity to earn a Bachelor degree in Music with a concentration on Worship Arts and Youth Ministry. The degree program is designed for students interested in performing music in church or ministry establishments.
The Worship Arts and Youth Ministry degree is designed to academically train students to maximize musical gifts and talents while developing the much needed skill set necessary for effective ministry towards younger individuals. The musically inclined student may use the Worship Arts concentration to best fit personal aspirations. The foundation of the curriculum will emphasize leading, teaching, performing, and ministering throughout the length of the degree program.
Students will complete 128 credit hours in courses that delve into topics of: Biblical Counseling of Youth. Foundations of Ministry, and Principles and Methods of Youth Ministry.
Students must also complete the general education courses in mathematics, literature, social and natural sciences, history, humanities and the fine arts. Successful students should be able to accurately use hermeneutics when analyzing, interpreting and applying ministry leadership in many professions.
Graduates should consistently demonstrate growth in their Christian character throughout the program and enrollment at the College. Successful students, upon graduation, may use the formal education when seeking musical careers communicating the scriptural truths in an accurate and effective manner to individuals in need. Graduates must also be able to perform the many responsibilities of pastoral care with practical skills.
To enter the Worship Arts and Youth Ministry major, the student is required to pass an audition in the chosen applied area.
