Program Details

California University of Pennsylvania offers a Certificate in Spanish for Law Enforcement, an online Spanish degree.  Regardless of your current level of Spanish, you must complete all four courses offered by this program to earn this certificate: Elementary Spanish I and II, Intermediate Spanish I, and Spanish for Law Enforcement.  The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of correctional officers, law-enforcement officers, public and private personnel, and other related fields.  Students learn simple words and phrases to assist them in the questioning process, including terms such as family names, colors, numbers, and conversation phrases.  You will master more advanced phrases including those used during arrests, traffic stops, medical emergencies, and more.

  • Interacting with suspects, victims, and witnesses

  • Hispanic customs

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Official transcripts
  • SAT/ACT test scores (waived for applicants who have been out of high school for at least two years)
