Program Details

The online Master of Arts in Criminal Justice Studies with a concentration in Forensic Linguistics equips you with the unique skill set of using linguistic analysis to solve crimes and build legal cases. In this online criminal justice program, you will build a strong foundation of theoretical knowledge and research skills while learning to assess threatening communications, fraudulent documents, and other writings associated with serious criminal matters. Coursework covers language structure, author profiling and threat assessment, sociolinguistics, and legal and ethical issues.  Students gain the knowledge and skills needed to help solve crimes and build legal cases. The program culminates in a capstone experience that might include an internship, a published research paper, studying abroad, or a thesis project.
