CSU – Northridge offers a graduate certificate in Health Administration. The certificate is available as an online learning option, as to provide busy working professionals the flexibility to earn a valuable education while still fulfilling career responsibilities. Students will partake in a series of 5 courses, as a cohort, to best utilize peers and staff to obtain the most thorough education. The program is comprised of 5 courses, delving into the essentials of Health Administration.
The certificate program, which contains courses from the Master of Public Administration degree, will prepare students with the knowledge and skills to analyze, improve and implement effective public policy strategies within the healthcare industry. The multifaceted certificate program will build on a student’s previous educations, in the healthcare field or not, by introducing the elements necessary to perform critical leadership roles in the dynamic setting of healthcare or management.
Students who wish to continue their education beyond the certificate can transfer up to 9 units of credit to satisfy the core requirements of the Cal State Northridge Master of Science in Health Administration (MSHA) degree program. Additionally, students can use the certificate program on a national or international level, by enrolling in a select group of courses. Students have the choice of subjects of interest in areas of health administration such as: Leadership in Health Administration Practice, Healthcare Organization, Managing Change in Healthcare Organizations, Systems for Health Delivery in the U.S., Health Services Administration Theory and Practice, Healthcare Information Management, and Health Administration: Financial Management.
