Program Overview

CSU – Northridge offers students an opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree through an innovative online program. The accelerated degree is part of the degree completion program, providing students with previous transferable credit hours a Liberal Arts degree.

Eligible students will be busy professionals who have earned at least 60 semester units of college or university and are motivated to complete the remaining credits to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. A Liberal Arts program is considered to be a foundational education, giving students the necessary knowledge and skills to perform a multitude of personal and professional aspirations. Employers have raised the standards they require from new potential employees, earning the B.A. in Liberal Arts will give students the competitive advantage when entering the job market.

The B.A. in Liberal Arts will give students the advanced analytic, conceptual, critical-thinking, decision-making, problem-solving and communication skills to apply in future careers or furthering their education at a Masters level. The innovative program combines courses from the College of Humanities, Colleges of Business and Economics; Mathematics and Science; Social and Behavioral Sciences; and the Tseng College. The multi-discipline program will ensure a graduate’s sustainability in any field.

Graduates will be well prepared to effectively contribute in local and domestic areas of business, humanities, arts, social sciences, mathematics and history. Liberal arts career opportunities are some of the most necessary and respected careers and include professions which require education at the university level in degree concentrations such as: Art, English, Foreign language, Political Science, Biology, or Psychology.

    School Overview

    California State University, Northridge is a public university located in Los Angeles, California in the San Fernando Valley that was established in 1958. Formerly San Fernando Valley State College, this school originated as the first satellite campus of California State University. In 1972, the University changed its name to the current name, California State University, Northridge. CSUN has nine colleges, offering undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees, several education degrees, and a DPT degree.
