California State University in East Bay offers a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Hospitality and Tourism, which may be completed entirely through a virtual classroom, allowing students the flexibility to earn a valuable degree to pursue advanced career opportunities.
The College of Education and Allied Studies has created an online Hospitality and Tourism degree program to introduce students to the essential topics of study to excel in positions in the service industry, restaurants, hotels, resorts, spas, management and many others. The higher education in Hospitality and Tourism may prepare students to enter the competitive job market, while also enabling them to become effective managers and leaders in current positions.
Students of the B.S. in Hospitality and Tourism program will blend the multifaceted topics of people skills, problem solving skills, and creativity needed to be a successful hospitality professional. The balance of customer service and appropriate knowledge of the specialty may give graduates a comprehensive understanding of how to asses and capitalize on first time vacationers, clients, and corporate individuals seeking excellent experiences and making sure they return.
Graduates of the Hospitality and Tourism program should be able to apply the learned knowledge of innovative leadership, management, and practice of the service quality consumers need. Successful students may be able to use the degree for immediate entry into the workplace or as the foundation for furthering their educational aspirations at a Masters or Doctorate level.

The Cal State East Bay Online campus provides flexible programming while offering multiple degree options. Classes are based on 11-week quarter sessions, and many students entering with fulfilled course prerequisites can complete the degree programs in two years. For students requiring the first two years of lower division courses, Cal State East Bay maintains links to neighboring community colleges that offer online transfer programs. Furthermore, online courses are asynchronous and many include reading, weekly assignments, and class discussions.
