Program Overview

California National University offers an online Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate Program that is modeled after DMAIC (Define—Measure—Analyze—Improve—Control). This program is six weeks in length and is a computer based training program that focuses on concepts and strategies most commonly used by business professionals. A non-refundable charge of $75 is required for an application to the program. Including this application fee, the total cost of the Six Sigma Green Belt program is $1,285.

As long as each student has access to an internet connection, the self-paced course gives students the opportunity to complete the required items on their own time and allows for more balance in their activities outside of the program. The unique learning experience prepares inpiduals with real-world exercises and case studies. Students are given a SSGB Certificate upon completing all required assignments and the passing of a final examination. Once a Green Belt is acquired, any inpidual will apply their knowledge to the job they have. However, Green Belts only spend 25-50% of their professional time on Six Sigma projects which is significantly less than Black Belts.

A Six Sigma Green Belt is an introductory level to Black Belt, Master Black Belt, Champion, and finally Executive Leadership. Once the Green Belt program has been completed, inpiduals are given the opportunity to continue to higher levels to gain responsibility and a larger role in the company or organization. Generally, upper management corresponds to the higher six sigma level. For example, Executive Leadership includes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and other various top management positions.

    School Overview

California National University was founded in 1993 after recognizing the need for mid-aged students to be able to continue learning while maintaining their careers and family lifestyle. CNU offers an innovative approach to distance education in its combination of self-study with direct personal contact and technology as well as its one-on-one instruction from faculty. This college offers undergraduate programs, graduate programs, a certificate program and individual courses through extension. The institution awards bachelors, masters, specialists and associate degrees.

Students need to own a computer and have access to the Internet to be able to have access to distance learning programs and software. One-on-one communication with professors is guaranteed, giving students maximum feedback and exdivert support. This is done through a sequential course syllabus with assignments and guided learning experience.
